Türk Eximbank and Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft Have Signed a Reinsurance Agreement

The official export credit agency of Türkiye, Türk Eximbank and Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft, commissioned to implement the export credit guarantees provided by the Federal Republic of Germany have signed a comprehensive reinsurance agreement. The agreement was concluded during the visit of the Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft delegation to Turk Eximbank’s headquarters on March 24, 2026, with the aim of deepening the close cooperation betwen the two institutions through projects in third countries.

The agreement, the outcome of extensive negotiations, establishes a framework for coordinated and joint support, under a reinsurance structure, for projects and transactions to be undertaken by Turkish and German companies in third countries. Within this framework, one institution will provide cover for the financing extended to the project, while the other will extend reinsurance support corresponding to the goods and services sourced from its respective country. By defining framework for risk-sharing betwen the institutions, the agreement paves the way for more competitive, swift and flexible medium- to long-term financing solutions.

Mr. Ali Güney, General Manager of Türk Eximbank, emphasized the importance of strenghtening alliances among export credit agencies in the face of evolving global market conditions, and expressed his statisfaction at advancing cooperation with Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft, acting as export credit agency of Germany one of Türkiye’s key trade partners. Güney underlined that this colaboration wil contribute to Turkish and German companies taking stronger and more effective steps together in international projects.
